Whirlpool Washing Machine Review Indian Models
Whirlpool is a multi-national corporation headquartered in the US. They launched in India in 1980s collaborating with TVS group and established the first manufacturing unit in Pondicherry for washing machines. Later on, they acquired Kelvinator and entered in to the refrigerator segment. Later, they bought out the shares of TVS group and emerged as Whirlpool Of India Limited. Presently, they have their Indian headquarters in Gurugram ( Gurgaon) and have manufacturing facilities in Faridabad, Pondicherry and Pune.
In the US, Whirlpool is sought out as one of the best manufacturers in the Washing machine segment. Though they have not quite been able to take over rivals like IFB, LG and Bosch, the company claims that they have stronger presence in southern states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu for semi-automatic washing machines.
Whirlpool also forayed in to front load segment which is their stronghold in US and other western countries recently with their “Made in Europe” front-loaders. The company says that their test marketing in Bangalore was a huge success and that they will be rolling out to Chennai, followed by other southern states and then all over the country soon.
In this review, we will mainly be covering the semi-automatic and automatic top loaders. Being a recently launched product, we have not included front loaders in this review for now. We talk mainly about their performance, features, durability and after-sales service.
Whirlpool Fully Automatic Top Load Washing Machine Review
With 7 kg capacity, Whirlpool Whitemagic Premier top loader is apt for 3-5-member family. With 5 wash programs and features like Spa wash method, wash process indicator, water reuse, new spa drum and digital display, the machine is quite reliable and exceeds expectations in terms of performance.
The machine is equipped with fuzzy logic technology that automatically adjusts the water level, detergent quantity according to the fabric type selection and load. If you live in a place with constant water supply disruption, you will especially love this washing machine as its aqua store feature stores water well before starting the washing cycle. The ZPF technology also allows filling of tub when the water pressure is low. Even if the water supply is hard, the washing machine adapts the programs to improve the wash quality.
You know how most washing machine comes with tub clean function and its lint filter has to be manually cleaned weekly or fortnight basis. Well, with Whirlpool Whitemagic Premier, you don’t have to worry about these, as the auto tub clean clears off the residual detergent and magic clean filter washes out the collected lint at the time of draining water after each wash cycle.
Now, talking about the drawbacks, the washing machine has a maximum RPM of just 740 cycles—which means it will take a longer time for drying and the drying efficiency isn’t as good as a 1000 RPM top loader from Haier or IFB.
Next, there is just a single inlet pipe. So, you don’t really have an option to wash clothes in hot water. A few reviews also suggest that the quality of hose pipe isn’t quite ideal.
Though there are a few drawbacks, overall, the washing machine is all about convenience, superior performance and durability.
If you are looking for same washing machine with lower capacity, you could opt for White Magic Premier 6.5 which has 6.5 Kg capacity and with rest of other features remaining the same.
And, if you are not particular about having LED display showing time remaining for a wash cycle, then you can opt for an even more budget friendly model which is Whitemagic Classic.

If you are looking for a fully automatic top load washing machine with in-built heater, then, Whirlpool Stainwash Ultra is one of the best budget-friendly choices available in the market.
IFB TL85SCH is one of the other models with in-built heater, but it is of higher capacity of 8.5 Kg and is a lot more expensive too.
Whirlpool Stainwash on the other hand, has capacity of just 6.5 Kg, making it suitable for families with 3-4 members. It has maximum RPM of 800 cycles and 12 wash programs making it suitable for most wash requirements. The in-built heater warms up water up to 60 degrees for the allergen mode. You can wash your bed and bath linen in this mode to totally get rid of dust mites.
In order to enhance the wash quality, the appliance comes with 6 sense wash technology which uses a combination of soaking, 3D scrubbing, agitation along with using warm water to remove even tough stains and eliminate allergens. We could observe from various reviews that overall, users are quite satisfied with its wash quality.
In order to enhance the user-friendliness, the washing machine is also equipped with ZPF technology that makes it ideal for homes with frequent water supply disruption. Additionally, auto removal of lint after every wash and in-built softener dispenser also makes it quite a user-friendly choice.
This same model is available in different colours and capacities. They are given below-
Whirlpool 360 degree Bloomwash Ultra is an upgrade to the Stainwash Ultra model with an advanced wash system that the manufacturers claim is far superior to wash quality of IFB, LG and Godrej. The machine is pretty silent for a top-loaders and is pretty energy and water efficient too.
Bloomwash technology is such that the variator plate in the bottom moves in such a way that the clothes are agitated in a blooming flower motion to ensure thorough cleaning. The catalytic soak function reduces water consumption by 1/3rd and the hot water thoroughly dilutes the washing powder to completely remove the dirt and allergens.
With a maximum RPM of 680 cycles, Whirlpool Bloomwash has 12 wash programs and a power dry option that dries clothes up to 20% better. The in-built water heater warms water up to 60 degree Celsius thus eradicating any allergens present in the clothes.
Just like Whirlpool Stainwash, it also has Hard water wash feature that adjusts the wash cycle speed and water consumption according to hardness of water; and also has option to manually as well as automatically fill water.

Whirlpool Semi-Automatic Top Load Washing Machine Review
With 7 Kg capacity, Whirlpool Superb Atom is a good choice of semi-automatic washing machine for 3-5-member family. Following suite of Samsung Top loaders, this washing machine comes with a scrub station cum tray that acts as a stand for scrubbing as well as a tray to sort and carry clothes for hanging.
The machine has 3 wash programs and 1000 RPM capacity which gives high drying efficiency. The clothes can be soaked for a maximum of 25 minutes to completely remove the dirt. In addition, the in-built memory function auto-restarts the washing machine in case of power failure midst wash cycle.
Overall, the features are basic, yet wash quality is satisfactory for a semi-automatic washing machine.
If you would like to have better washing and drying efficiency in comparison with the previous model- Superb Atom, then Whirlpool Ace Turbodry would be a more suitable option for you.
