The Samsung Galaxy M31 is powered by an Exynos 9611 octa-core processor with a base speed of 2.3 GHz. It also has 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage which can be expanded up to 512 GB. The phone runs on the latest Android 10 and supports Dual SIM with dual standby (4G + 4G) connectivity.

It features a 6.4-inch Full HD capacitive touch screen with a pixel density of 404 PPI. The display is top-notch with brilliant viewing angles and color reproduction. It also has sufficient brightness level to use it under sunlight without a hassle. The screen is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection which safeguards it from dust and minor physical damage.

The Galaxy M31 performs well in the camera department as well. With a quad-camera setup at the back (64 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP + 5 MP), you can capture photos with a high level of detail. The camera uses a Scene Optimiser which automatically detects the type of mode best suited for the available lighting conditions. It also supports HDR which drastically improves the color in landscape photography. The 32 MP front-facing camera for shooting selfies does a decent job in daylight but fails to impress in low light conditions.

In terms of battery performance, the phone has a large 6000 mAH Li-ion battery which provides a solid battery backup of up to 20 hours. It also supports fast charging with the stock 15W charger allowing you to charge the device up to 50% in 40 minutes.

The Samsung Galaxy M30s is powered by an Exynos 9611 octa-core processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage (expandable up to 512 GB). It runs on Android 9.0 Pie and supports 4G + 4G Dual SIM dual-standby.

The phone has a 6.4-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The display has two color modes – Natural and Vivid. Both the color modes are decent in terms of visual details and color ratio; however, we liked the vivid more as it has an enhanced level of contrast that is more soothing to the eyes.

In the camera performance, the phone has a triple rear camera setup (48 MP + 5 MP + 5 MP). The rear camera takes 12 MP photos by default and to capture 48 MP shots, you have to manually toggle the option in the camera settings. You also get an AI-based Scene Optimiser which recognizes the scene and automatically selects the best shooting mode. The 16 MP front-facing camera has good edge detection to take selfies but it struggles to capture details under dim light conditions.

In terms of gaming performance, the phone can seamlessly run most modern games with ease. We tested PUBG Mobile, which automatically defaulted on the high settings. Though the frame rate was decent, we noticed some lag when playing for more than 30 minutes.

In terms of battery performance, the phone is powered by the same 6000mAH battery as in the Galaxy M31. It provides a similar backup and also supports fast charging with the 15W charger provided with the phone.

The Galaxy A50s is an extremely good looking phone with ultra-thin bezels and a waterdrop notch design. It’s highly ergonomic and can be used with one hand without any hassle. However, as it is entirely made up of plastic, it’s not very durable.

Like most smartphones by Samsung in this range, the Galaxy A50s is powered by the Exynos 9611 processor. The phone is available in both 4 GB and 6 GB RAM versions with 128 GB UFS 2.1 storage memory. It also packs a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU which is good enough to handle most heavy-duty games.

In terms of performance, you will feel some lag while multi-tasking. The app transitions are smooth but while scrolling Facebook or Instagram, you will notice considerable loading times. You also get an on-screen fingerprint sensor, which takes some time to process a fingerprint and unlock the device.

The phone features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution. The display provides good color reproduction and decent viewing angles. You will also enjoy using the phone under daylight as it has sufficient brightness levels.

Coming to the camera performance, the Galaxy A50s combines a triple camera setup at the back which includes 48 MP + 5 MP + 8 MP sensors. It captures photos in 12 MP resolution by default. You will also notice a warm tinge in all the photos in normal light that you can change in the settings. The auto-focus feature performs well by automatically separating the background from the foreground. Packed with a 4000mAH battery, the device is good enough for all-day usage. It comes with a 15W charger with native fast charging support.

The Galaxy A51 has an ergonomic design with a polycarbonate body. It is a lightweight and slim phone, weighing only 172g and just 7.9mm thick. Although you may not like its glossy finish, which can be a fingerprint magnet.

Coming to the display, the Galaxy A51 features an Infinity-O display, which is for the first time in an A-series phone. The screen has a Super AMOLED panel with Full HD resolution. The display quality is quite amazing with impeccable color reproduction, good sharpness levels and excellent viewing angles.

The Galaxy A51 uses a 5 MP macro camera in addition to the triple camera setup used in the Galaxy A50s (48 MP primary sensor + 12 MP ultra-wide sensor + 5 MP depth of field sensor). By default, the rear camera takes 12 MP photos that have a good level of detail. The depth of field sensor works well to capture mid-range objects but struggles in long-range shots. The front camera has a 32 MP sensor which is not the best in this range as most photos have overly smoothened skin tones.

The smartphone uses the same Exynos 9611 processor found in most Samsung phones in this category. Besides, it also has two variants with 6 or 8 GB RAM with 128 GB internal storage. The phone runs on Samsung’s One UI 2.0 which is based on Android 10. The UI is quite similar to the stock Android but has some over the top tweaks to improve the user experience.

In the battery department, the phone uses a 4000mAH battery, the same used in the Galaxy A50s. Though, it offers a slightly improved battery backup due to efficient battery management in the latest Android 10.

Samsung Galaxy A70

The Galaxy A70 is a phone that provides the premium experience of a flagship phone at almost half the price. It looks like a super-sized version of the A50s with the same curved edges and gradient effect on the back.

The Galaxy A70 is powered by the Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. The phone runs on Android Pie 9.0 and supports 4G + 4G Dual SIM dual-standby.

The display quality is at par with most flagship devices in the market with vibrant colors and great contrast levels. Whether you’re watching streaming videos or playing games, you will love the viewing experience.

In the camera department, the phone combines a triple camera setup at the back (32 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP). The photos taken by the rear camera are sharp with decent edge details and dynamic range. The auto focus works perfectly with quick focus lock and background separation. All the photos have natural colors with good depth and surface details. Coming to the front camera, the phone has a 32 MP sensor that provides highly detailed selfies with natural skin tones and color reproduction.

In terms of battery life, the phone is packed with a 4500mAH Li-ion battery that supports fast charging with the Super Fast Charging 25W charger included in the box. The battery backup is quite good as the phone easily runs through an entire day without running out of juice.

The Galaxy A30s is powered by an Exynos 7904 octa-core processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory (expandable up to 512 GB). It runs on One UI 1.5 which is based on Android 9.0 Pie.

Design-wise, the phone features a metal frame with an eye-catching gradient back panel and prism-like finish. It has thin bezels and a tear-drop notch which gives it a premium look.

It features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED V-cut display with HD+ resolution (720 x 1520). The display has sufficient brightness to be used under sunlight. The display quality is decent; however, it’s not at par with the Full HD display found in other phones in this category.

The rear camera takes vibrant photos but lacks in preserving details on long-range shots. You will notice some noise when zooming-in on photos. The front-facing 16 MP camera does a satisfactory job and comes with many different filters and photo customization settings to choose from.

Coming to the battery life, the phone is powered by a 4000mAH battery that provides a battery backup of 10 hours at medium usage. It also supports fast charging with the included 15W charger.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star

However, you will notice the viewing angles to be a bit off the mark with some blue and green hues bleeding out from the sides.

The phone has a dual-camera setup at the back, combining 24 MP + 16 MP sensors. The 16 MP sensor is the primary sensor for photo-shooting whereas the 24 MP sensor is used for bokeh pictures.
