Difference between 500 and 750-watt mixer grinder?

As you would already know, watts in this context refers to the power of the motor—higher being the better for most circumstances.

A 750 watt mixer grinder is in no way a necessity if you do NOT extensively use a mixer grinder in your regular cooking routine. If you don’t grind idili batter or dry grind spices, then a 500-watt mixer grinder would be more than enough. In fact, a lot of South Indian families use a 500-watt mixer grinder and a separate table top wet grinder for making idili/dosa batter. This is actually a brilliant idea as the batter made from wet grinder is tastier and the 500 watt mixer grinder will be more than sufficient for other regular grinding jobs.

But if you don’t want to buy a separate mixer grinder and wet grinder, you could opt for a 750 watt mixer grinder. Not only is it good for grinding idili/dosa batter, but can also occasionally dry grind spices when you run out of them. However, the texture of spice powder won’t be as smooth as mill-ground spices.

750 watt mixer grinders are comparatively more expensive than 500 watt mixer grinders. But, they are generally found to be more durable and its jars are sturdier when compared to 500-watt mixer grinder too.

So, now, let us get on to the list of best 750-watt mixer grinders available in India.
